As a person who doesn’t watch TV, I’m only now watching “Mad Men” on Netflix.  Have worked my way into the third season.  This dress reminds of the early shows….Betty’s dresses, and the impossible ways the women want to please the men. What was it about this tiny-waist, huge-skirt style that made it so popular?  It was, of course, the “New Look” that Dior introduced.
